We are a "hands-on" company. We work WITH you to help you meet your goals. Our flexibility lets you decide how, when and if you use our service offerings. When we say "family", we mean it (well, the good kind of family, not the annoying -psycho kind that makes you want to change your name and move to another country). If you ever need help with something, or have any questions, all you have to do is fire up the email or pick up the phone and we'll do our best to take care of ya.
1) How much does it cost to register with Phibble?
It costs you nothing to register with us. That's right, FREE!
2) How does my IPK get created?
After you fill out the registration form the information is sent to us where we then create your IPK. This includes us adding your songs
to the audio player, adding your music videos, putting merch/digital downloads into your store, etc. You just fill out the form
and we do the rest. Then you will receive an email from us confirming the information in your IPK and then it goes public.
3) I'm signed to a label can I sign-up?
No, sorry! Here at Phibble we only have unsigned artists as part of our family. But, if you are on a small independent label that has
no associations with the RIAA, IFPI, etc. then we would love to have you!
4) How long does it take to get my iPK ready?
We are a small company. Depending on our workload, 1-3 days. We strive to get every iPK done within 24 hours of submission, but sometimes that's not realistic. We'll be in contact with you, so if it takes longer, you'll hear it from us and you'll know what's going on!
5) How do I add music and merch after my IPK has already been set up? Or what if I need something changed in my IPK at some point.
For now, contact us and we will add whatever needs to be added or changed to your IPK.
We are working on a system where you can update your site as you need, and you can also take advantage of tools like Twitter, and Flickr to update your site
automagically.
1) How can I sell digital downloads and physical merchandise on Phibble?
For digital downloads you need to email us your mp3's or send us your CD, we'll put them in your music store and it's as easy as that.
Now for physical merch you will need to send us what you want to sell, we'll get pictures taken and then add that physical merchandise
to the correct catagory in your store. For bands outside of North America please go here to find out what we can do for you.
2) Can I sell cover songs on Phibble?
Not at this time. Not because we want to be restrictive, we just aren't set up to deal with the legal B.S. that something like that brings.
3) Can I sell music that has samples on it?
In a word, no. If you have any material in your music for which you do not own the copyright -- no matter how short it is -- you must either obtain a license to use it or you must remove it from your recording.
4) How do I know if I sold something?
At the end of each month, we will send you a report that summarizes your sales, and if your balance is $25 or more, you'll get a nice juicy check too!
1) Will my music and vid's be played on Phibble shows?
Yes they sure will. Right now we have 4 different hosted music shows that come out weekly, we have 6 different on demand music
streaming shows and we also have 4 music video shows. If you register with us and fall within the genre's we cover in our shows then
you will be played!
2) Will my songs be put into rotation on the radio?
Yes they will in both the hosted weekly radio shows and the streaming shows.
1) Do I have to use all of your services that you offer the bands?
No you don't but we encourage you to look at our services and see if your band could benefit from them. We have made them affordable
and they are there for you when you need them. Also, don't be shy on asking us for something you don't see listed under services
because we may be able to help!
2) What if I get signed to a major label?
We would appreciate it if you contacted us and let us know and we will then take down your IPK. We would still like to be friends but
Phibble is a place for unsigned acts.
3) Do you pay royalties for every time I have a song played or a video played.
No we do not. Playing your music and videos is our way to promote you. To make money we offer you a store where we hope you make
a ton of money!
4) What does your tag line, "Where Independence Lives" mean?
Our tag line means that we believe in your freedom of choice for your band. If you want to stay indie and do everything yourself we
salute you! If you want to evenutally be signed to a major label we know people who can help you! If you want to stay indie but
need help on the business end then we're here to help! Independence to us means that it's your band and your life and you should make
the decision, and we are here to help & support you in any way we can.
5) How do I link from my site to my iPK?
Each iPK will come with a unique address, typically phibble.com/bandname. We've designed the store so you can easily embed it into your webpage (we offer $5 Hosting and web design), and we'll have images and links that you can use to link to your iPK from places like MySpace.
6) Why do you use MP3 files?
Simply, because they work on every digital music player.
7) Are the MP3 files copy-protected?
NO! DRM sucks! In our vast research we've found that most consumers hate the idea that they purchase a song, but can only use it on certain players, and can't take it to another device.
Since our digital files are DRM-Free, this means that they can be ripped to a CD, moved to another player, emailed to a friend, or put up on a web site for download. We think that is a good thing. After all, your CDs aren't copy protected either. As an independent artist, your main goal is to become known to the widest audience possible. An open format makes that easy.
