Norcross
By Will Aymerich

One evening early in the process of planning the Norcross Ghost Tour, I and a trainee in my Norcross Paranormal investigation team, Dave who has now moved on, went walking around the town to get better acquainted with it. We went to each location on our list that had a supposed haunting and gave it a once over from the outside. Dave being an amateur photographer also wanted to get some nice black and white shots of some of the nice buildings the city has. He was especially fond of the 45 South Cafe which used to house the original post office of Norcross. He set up his camera and tripod across the street and took a couple of pictures and then repositioned to take a shot of Mojito's the Cuban-American bistro a couple of spaces down ...

He took one picture and then froze, pointed at the left window of the store front... There looking back at us was a little girl no more than 7 years old, wearing a red dress. It was too dark to really see her hair color but he and I remember it being straight and possibly light brown. I remember thinking to myself. What is a young girl still up so late? It was already roughly 3:30am. That's when the shocker came. No sooner had my thought completed and she fades from view in front of us! Dave and I looked at one another and like good ghost hunter in honor of Shaggy and Scooby Doo we packed up and took off!

Some time had passed from that day and I began to tell this story on the ghost tour. When one day standing in front of Mojito's I was telling this story when the owner Luis and his wife were stand outside with some customers. When I was done with the story his wife spoke up "So you have seen la Nina too!" Since that day I have been back a couple of times with my team for lunch and to do some informal checks. I found out from the contractor that while remodeling the location he and the builders had some run ins with the little girl, or la Nina as the like to call her in Spanish. His workers would be working along playing some Spanish music and the girl would speak up and ask them politely to turn it off. She would also tell them "I don't like that music." After a break they would find things slightly moved as if someone had been checking it out. The contractor also informed me that some of his men have claimed to see her.

Since Mojito's has opened the word has been that the little girl has become friendly with the cook. That she has been known to move pots and pans around and to show herself and give a friendly smile. Norcross paranormal research has not turned up much more. Dave and I recall that her dress looked as if it was from the 1980's and our investigations have turned up a couple of deaths of young girls at the railroad crossings in Norcross around that decade. Yet we have not been able to make a connection from them to the location which is now Mojito's.

That first encounter has left me really puzzled about that location and sad. Why is a little child still wandering here? There is no feeling of dread and sadness in Mojito's. You can walk in and always hear lively music and dine on some amazing food. My team has plans to go in formally and meet la Niņa. When we do you all will be the first to know what we learn.
