Phibble

Returning to the KNBC studios Charles Incharge is thinking about the interview he just did and how he is going to prepare it for his air time. Removing his sunglasses he pushes the elevators button. A few moments later the doors glide open and a few people exit. Steping into the elevator Charles finds himself alone as the doors close and the cables move him up to his floor. Watching the numbers light up as each floor passes by the elevator stops with a jerk and the doors open. But instead of seeing his floor Charles is astonished to find the wall of the elevator shaft facing him. Retreating to the back of the elevator and feeling alarmed the elevator starts to descend downward rapidly. Gaining speed as it plummets downward Charles hangs onto the rail and see's his life flash before him. Hearing the squeal of the elevators brakes Charles opens his tight lid eyes to find himself no longer alone in the elevator but with a translucent figure who is reaching out towards him. As his screams begin to get louder the apparition slowly fades away.

Wendy Breeze never takes the elevator because she likes the workout she receives by walking briskly up the stairs. But that day as she walked up the stairs she was thinking of a new childrens book she wanted to write when she had this strange urge to run and not look back at the downslope of stairs. A door opens to the stairwell on the floor above but knowone was to be found when she reached it. Rounding the corner to the next flight of stairs a rush of cold crisp wind pushes at her back. Then she felt hot heavy arms encircling her from behind and as Wendy struggles to turn and see who the attacker is the same ghost like man who Charles saw is now facing her.

"Wendy! Wendy! Wake up Wendy!", cried Charles. "What happened? Did you see that man who was here?", asked Wendy. "No I didn't, but if its the same man I saw, I don't want to hear about it," replied Charles. With that Charles helped Wendy up and they both charged up the rest of the stairs together.

Terror in the Newsroom

With more than half of Halloween over, Colleen was thinking about how she celebrated it as a child. For her the scariest part of Halloween was that night when everyone was asleep and she was alone in her dark bedroom. Creeks and moans from the house would remind her of scary stories she had heard that day and she would shake like a leaf under the covers. One particular Halloween she heard a scratching sound from under her bed and she remembered that she didn't have her parents check for the boogie man under it. Shaking her head and bringing herself back to today, Colleen couldn't believe how scared she would get as a child. Trying to get back to work, she reached for her favorite pen and her desk started to jump up and down. At first she thought it was an earthquake, but as she looked through the glass wall to see if her coworkers were running for cover, she felt a powerful grip around both of her ankles that was pulling her down beneath the desk. Trying to scream all Colleen could get out was a dry scratchy sound that not even a dog could hear. Flipping around and grabbing her chair with her hands, Colleen just managed to pull herself up and run into the next room. Only then did she realize that she lost her shoes in the struggle.
