Biography
Fortunate Son has been a driving force in the Eastern Idaho musical scene for over 5 years. In 2001 Spencer Vehar (lead vocals) and Kevin Vehar (backing vocals) joined with Zac Cutler (guitar), Scott Arter (bass), and Nick Pickett (drums). Performing a mixture of cover and original songs, the group became popular among college students and others in the region. The band's unique mixture of classic rock, alternative, and modern rock attracted local business and college productions to support the band. Scott and Nick later parted with the band to pursue other endeavors.

The remaining members of fortunate son were then joined by Ben Parker (guitar), Payte Cagle (bass), Brandon Doggett (keyboard), and Steve Serra (drums). With the newly established members the band explored new creative dimensions and became a driving force in the music community. Their fans demanded more of their unique sound and the band grew in popularity; playing at many different events and concerts in the area.

The sound of fortunate son's music is derived by anything from classic rock, to alternative, to modern rock. Original songs by fortunate son vary from mellow acoustic ballads to riff-based energetic songs. You can hear creative influences and the unique sounds in the soaring vocals, harmonizing guitars, thumping bass, beautiful keys, and tight drum beats. fortunate son plays to a wide variety of crowds throughout Idaho and Utah.
